CARRIE HENNEMAN SHAW
Minneapolis-based soprano Carrie Henneman Shaw is honored to join dal
niente and Sonic Inertia in her Opera Cabal debut. Following her passion for
expressive and experimental music, Carrie divides her time between contemporary and 17th-century repertoire, collaborating with numerous groups, such as
the Rose Ensemble, Consortium Carissimi, Sapphire Chamber Consort, the Zuchowiczi Consort of Viols,
and the Deviated Septet. This season she will be heard in Houston, Chicago, Seattle,
and Minneapolis in programs that include songs by composers ranging from Edie Hill to William Byrd, from Monteverdi to a new
work by Dimitri Shapovalov with texts by Anna Akhmatova, which she will premiere this spring in collaboration with Sapphire
Chamber Consort. Carrie
was raised in Monkey's Eyebrow, Kentucky.
